Chocolate Delight

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt together.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow it to cool before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or drizzled chocolate or caramel sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
