- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt together.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow it to cool before serving.
Notes
Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or drizzled chocolate or caramel sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
