Homemade Doughnuts

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of flour
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 7 grams of baker’s yeast
  • 5 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the melted butter, egg, and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients.
  4. Mix everything until a dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover it and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  7. Once the dough has risen, roll it out and cut it into doughnut shapes.
  8. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the doughnuts until they are golden brown on both sides.
  9. Drain the doughnuts on paper towels and enjoy!

Notes

Doughnuts can be served plain or with toppings such as powdered sugar, chocolate glaze, or sprinkles. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for longer storage.
