  3. In another bowl, beat together the sugar, eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
